Building a distribution environment for change

Amid rapid advances in digital technology and the internet, the Association
works to prevent illegal distribution of recordings,

and was established to foster a lawful online music market,
as a collective management organization for neighboring rights, we promote a lawful online distribution market,
improve user awareness, prevent illicit markets, and, as distribution models evolve,
minimize potential harm to record producers,
pursuing a healthy ecosystem and a leap forward in the digital era.

For record producers,
Stabilizing systems to protect rights and interests

Within a changing copyright framework, the Association
works to ensure producers’ rights are better safeguarded,
pursuing relevant legislation and stabilizing the legal system,
to protect the rights and interests of producers,

and, under international treaties Korea has joined,
we strive to ensure producers’ rights are protected
to international standards.

For record producers,
by record producers — a producers’ organization

The Association changed its name from the Korea Music Producers Association
to the Recording Industry Association of Korea,
representing producers leading Hallyu such as K-POP, as well as traditional genres,
and adult contemporary that form a pillar of the domestic market,
with these record producers as members.

We foster active exchange, and at the same time,
serve as a leader for the mature development of the recording industry and popular culture in Korea.
